Meet our Members: Sumner Spay Neuter Alliance

Our Member Spotlight this week is the Sumner Spay Neuter Alliance.Their mission is to reduce the shelter intake and euthanasia of dogs and cats by making high quality, low cost spay/neuter services available to all residents of our community.  The Sumner Spay Neuter Alliance is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit organization. They provide these services to pets along with free roaming and feral cats. Free roaming cats are the largest population of animals entering animal control and private shelters, and their mission is to reduce the number (they even have traps to loan for free if you know an animal that needs to taken care of). Sumner Spay & Neuter Alliance really is a labor of love - their spay neuter fees are set to a break even point, making them extremely affordable. At least one third of their spay/neuter services are performed for free, because of grants or generous donations by other members of the community. We are seeing a lot of growth in Sumner County, that includes our animal population, and unfortunately, animals who get left behind with people moving in and out. To accommodate the demand of taking care of our four legged friends, they were able to move from an 1100 square foot facility into a larger 3500 square foot facility. They now have 12 employees and were able to hire additional  vets and vet assistants. The staff at Sumner Spay Neuter are truly the best. They love on each dog or cat that come in through their doors, they provide clean, safe, quality care. We are lucky to have an organization that is as devoted to their mission. Make sure you pass the word along: from now until October 31, they are offering FREE cat spay/neuter for ALL cats- pets, indoor, outdoor, feral, or free roaming. Get in touch with them if you have more questions!

Sumner Spay Neuter Alliance, THANK YOU for all that you do for Sumner County! It’s work that is much appreciated!
