Meet the Board: Len Assante


Leonard Assante serves as the 2020 Chamber Board Liason. Len is a graduate of both Rutgers University—New Brunswick and University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences and has 24 years of teaching experience, making him a wonderful fit to help our Chamber live out one of our core values: education! 13 of Len's 24 years have been spent at Vol State where Len earned the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2006. Len is a current member and past president of the Tennessee Communication Association, through which he earned the Communication Educator of the Year Award in 2006 and the Dorotha Norton Spirit of Service Award in 2015. In addition to Len's time in the classroom, Len is very active in the community. He is the founding board president of VSA Arts Tennessee, presently known as Borderless Arts Tennessee, founding board member for Flying Musicians Association, Inc., and currently serves on the board for Cottages of Last Plantation HOA. Len is a graduate of both Leadership Sumner and Regents Academic Leadership Institute, allowing him insight to serve on the task force as we develop and prepare to launch Leadership Gallatin! When he's not working with great local boards and organizations, Len can be found in the air or on the road! Len is also a pilot with 35+ years of experience as well as an avid recreational cyclist.
