In early 2018, Perkins Drugs & Gift Shop, Gallatin’s longest continually-operated business and one of the city’s most beloved pharmacies, added a second location in the Fairvue area. For owner Andrew Finney, the move came after many years of planning. “We knew that we needed a presence on the west side of Gallatin because that’s where much of the city’s growth is happening,” Andrew says.

Finding the right location was a key factor. Finney wanted to be close to Nashville Pike and near growing developments like Fairvue and Kennesaw Farms. “Our research told us that people on the west side of Gallatin tend to drive into Hendersonville to shop,” Finney says. “There are eight different pharmacies between Perkins’ east-side pharmacy and the Green Lea Blvd. area. We have many loyal customers who come from the west side of Gallatin but a large number of residents do not because of convenience. We opened the new location because we wanted to make sure there's no geographic reason that people are not coming to our store.”
