s historic downtown area features many fine older homes, churches, retail and office buildings. From Trousdale Place and the Sumner County Museum to the Palace Theater, both the history buff and the casual tourist will find gems of the past.  


Gallatin is a city with quality leadership in government, a variety of businesses, and a dedicated work force, making Gallatin the perfect community in which to make a home. Schools in the community strive each day to provide quality instruction through both traditional programs and cutting-edge technology. Volunteer State Community College
is a key element in the educational and cultural climate of Gallatin, providing post-secondary education for any age wishing to purse higher learning.

 

Health care providers in Gallatin and Sumner County offer not only the best in medical services, but also add the personal touch so necessary for health and healing. Sumner Regional Health Systems is the area's largest employer, offering citizens outstanding medical care, as well as other health and wellness options - including the new Sumner Station, recently opened on Big Station Camp Road. 

 

The city leaders of Gallatin pursue the best quality of life for all citizens. Gallatin provides outstanding community services, senior services are abundant and youth programs. 

A community grows in proportion to its foundation of faith; therefore, Gallatin provides a variety of worship choices. In addition, the area is home to several historic church buildings, witnesses to the long religious tradition we enjoy.


Gallatin is located in the heart of the nation, enjoying both open spaces and proximity to larger cities (25 miles to Nashville). Gallatin is the centrally located HUB for business!

TRANSPORTATION:

Major Highway Access: We are served by U.S. Highway 31 and State Highways 25 and 109. All major Interstates(including I-40, I-65 and I-840) are conveniently accessible, all less then 20 miles fromGallatin. Highway 24 is also convenient, via Highway 840.

Rail Transportation is provided by CSX. Passenger rail will return to Gallatin in the very near future, providing daily transportation to and from Nashville.

The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway gives Gallatin accessibility to major markets.Waterway access is offered through the Cumberland River.

Sumner County Airport has a 5,000-foot, paved runway, with jet fuel and major repair available.Commercial air service is just minutes away at Nashville International Airport, which serves more than 100 markets.

QUALITY OF GALLATIN LIFE:

Though we have easy access to larger cities (we are within a day’s drive of 75 percent of the nation’s major markets), we are proud of our small-town feel. A casual lifestyle has always been part of Gallatin’s charm, and that will continue because it is a priority with us. Yet, businesses looking at Gallatin will find reasonably priced land, available both from private developers and in municipally owned industrial sites, along with a willingness to work and build for the future.
